About Jamadagni
Son of Richika and Satyavati of Kanyakubja, born with the kshatriya energy that his mother had begged be delayed by a generation, so that it fell on his son Parashurama instead. He shot at the sun until the god came down with an umbrella and sandals, ordered his sons to behead their mother Renuka and disowned four of them for refusing, and was himself killed in his hermitage by the sons of Kartavirya, which emptied the earth of kshatriyas twenty-one times over.
