Devasena (देवसेना): Bride of the God of War, one of the divine beings in the Mahabharata. Daughter of Prajapati, seized on the Manasa hills by the danava Kesin as her sister Daityasena had been, and rescued by Indra.

About Devasena
Daughter of Prajapati, seized on the Manasa hills by the danava Kesin as her sister Daityasena had been, and rescued by Indra. She asked not to be taken home but to be given a husband able to defeat every god, asura, yaksha and rakshasa alive, which meant that such a person had first to be born. Brahma promised it, and years later Indra remembered her and gave her to the newly consecrated Skanda; she is worshipped as Shashthi, the goddess of the sixth day.
