The kingdom ruled by Chitrangada, Arjuna's wife during his exile. Their son Babruvahana ruled here later. Its location is disputed: scholars place the epic's Manipura (or Manalura) on the eastern coast near Kalinga or in the far south, while tradition links it to modern Manipur.
