Jnana Yoga (jñāna-yoga)
ज्ञानयोग
What Jnana Yoga Means in the Mahabharata
Jnana yoga is the path of knowledge, in which liberation comes from discriminating the eternal self from everything that merely appears to be the self. It is the route taken by the sages of the Mokshadharma, by Yajnavalkya arguing at Janaka's court, and by Sulabha when she out-reasons a king who thought he was already free. The Mahabharata generally treats it as the highest path and the hardest, and pairs it with action or devotion for those who cannot sustain it alone.
