Utanka (उत्तङ्क): The Devoted Disciple, one of the sages and supporting figures in the Mahabharata. A disciple of Veda who undertook a perilous quest for Queen Madayanti's earrings as guru-dakshina, was wronged by Takshaka, and later spurred Janamejaya toward the snake sacrifice.
