Apantaratamas (अपान्तरतमस्): Arranger of the Vedas, one of the sages and supporting figures in the Mahabharata. The rishi who sprang from the speech of Narayana and was commanded to divide and arrange the Vedas, a task appointed to him in every Manwantara.

About Apantaratamas
The rishi who sprang from the speech of Narayana and was commanded to divide and arrange the Vedas, a task appointed to him in every Manwantara. Also called Saraswat and Prachina-garbha, he was told that in the Kali age the Kauravas would spring from him, and he took birth again as Krishna-Dwaipayana Vyasa.
