Dvapara Yuga (dvāpara-yuga)

The Dvapara Yuga is the third age, with dharma standing on two legs, and it is the age in which the Mahabharata itself takes place. Its mark is ambiguity: heroes are still enormous, weapons still divine, but truth has become negotiable and every choice carries a hidden cost. The age closes with the war at Kurukshetra and with Krishna's departure, which the epic treats as the moment the lights go down.
